Plot of The Devil Conspiracy: In some other world the Archangel Michael takes on Lucifer and chains him to a rock in the underworld. The conflict is reflected in a statue in a religious building in which an art student, Laura, is making a drawing of it. Meanwhile elsewhere in the building a scientist Dr Laurent, displays his successful cloning of Vivaldi, a boy playing the violin and exhibits a baby, which he claims is Michelangelo to be auctioned. Laura is captured by unknown villains and at the same time a priest is killed to have his body taken over by Archangel Michael (following it so far). Laura is impregnated with DNA from the Turin Shroud. Within the building is a portal to the underworld and with others Laura is winched down into it to be impregnated by Lucifer. Michael follows, but is overcome by Lucifer…
Content: Despite the premise, there is no sex or nudity. We follow Michael into the underworld, which seems to be a rock in the gloom to which Lucifer, and then Michael is chained. There is violence as the priest is stabbed with a crucifix, and at times a “beast” is used to open up the portal to hell. Laura and other women are held in a glass cage. The shroud is stolen and used for the extraction of JC’s DNA. Once he has escaped from the rock Lucifer often appears as a snake like thing which enters people’s bodies by mouth or, in one case, ear.
A View: Let’s put the fact that the Turin Shroud is known to be a medieval fraud to one side, but even so this film is totally dire with a convoluted script almost beyond understanding and awful acting. I was particularly struck by the fact that Michael seems to have no special powers, and could not understand how the impregnation of Laura with a divine DNA sample allowed her to carry Lucifer’s child. So in short this is a terrible film which you should not view. Be warned!
