Plot of Mine: In a desert location a US Special Forces sniper and his observer are positioned to assassinate a terrorist, at a wedding ceremony, but the shot is not taken due to human obstructions, and they are seen by guards. They run away into the desert but accidentally enter an old minefield, where the observer, Tommy, steps on a mine and has both legs blown off. Mike, the sniper, seems to have stepped on a mine, but does not lift his foot. Tommy dies and Mike is told that he cannot be rescued for a couple of days. Time passes and he is visited by a Bedouin, who dispenses wisdom. Later he remembers his separation from his girlfriend, which was acrimonious. He is attacked by dogs in the night, and targeted by distant terrorists who he kills – he is a sniper. But can he survive until he is rescued?

Content: No sex or nudity. The guys are in position to shoot the terrorist, but do not do so. On the run Tommy steps on the mine the result is distressing. Thereafter we are mostly with Mike as he remains upright over time so that he does not have to lift his foot, and be killed or maimed by the mine he is standing on. But the visiting Bedouin says that his daughter has buried fake mines with tin cans, although, probably, she had been blown up. There are scenes elsewhere as Mike remembers or hallucinates.

A View: This film has not been much liked by the limited numbers of people who have seen it, and probably even if it has a small production cost, it is unlikely to have made any money. When I found out what it was about I doubted that it could hold my attention, but it did. I have seen so much absolute crap recently that I have been energised into giving this outing a positive review. It is, in my opinion, worth your time.

Fun Fact: Once more Spain has provided a desert location. In this case Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands.
