The Road

Released 2009 Rating 15 in UK
Director John Hillcoat Writer/s Joe Penhall
Starring Viggo Mortensen, Charlize Theron, Kodi Smit-McPhee
Source of story Novel of the same name by Cormac McCarthy
Elevator Pitch A father and son make their way towards the sea, in a post apocalypse world where civilisation has failed, against almost insurmountable odd. But the father’s health is failing and they only have one bullet left in their pistol.
Content Unrelenting tension as the pair are threatened from all sides, with some very unpleasant canibalistic scenes.
A View This was one of the films made in the post Hurricane Katrina landscape. Worth a watch although sometimes I’d like to see things looking better in the future instead of worse.
