The Magnificent Seven

Released 1960 Rating U in UK
Director John Sturges Writer/s William Roberts
Starring Yul Brynner, Steven McQueen, Eli Wallach, James Coburn, Charles Bronson, Robert Vaughn
Source of story A Hollywood remake of “The Seven Samurai”
Elevator Pitch A group of American gunslingers are hired to protect a Mexican village against a gang of bandits.
Content While the gunmen initially just take the job for what little money there is in it, they become emotionally involved with the villagers in a variety of ways. But still lots of gunfire and drama.
A View Maybe the original scripting of “getting the band together”, so don’t miss the beginning. In fact don’t miss any of it. It remains a seminal western.
